Daviess County wins Game Day Division championship at state dance

Daviess County won the Game Day Division of the KHSAA State Dance Championships Sunday at George Rogers Clark in Winchester.

DC finished with a score of 93.15 to beat Ballard by four points. Apollo competed in the Pom Division and finished ninth with a score of 78.53 with Madison Central winning the division with a score of 94.83.

Panther coach Debbie Connor said it’s always great to win.

“The feeling is incredible,” she said. “There were some amazingly talented teams in the competition.”

With state being their last competition of the season, Connor said her sqaud was ready to go.

“Coming into today, the team was extremely motivated, excited and determined to show the judges and the fans what they’ve worked so hard on all year,” she said. “Before taking the floor we told the team to put it all out there, no holding back, no fear & no regrets.”

Connor said the squad is already looking forward to next season as they’ll start practicing in July.
