The 2021 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. II All-Region teams and Regional Players of the Year have been announced in all eight regions. The teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. II All-America Committee. Ben Wilcoxson of the Kentucky Wesleyan College baseball team has earned Second Team honors this season.
Ben Wilcoxson finished seventh in the G-MAC with a .372 batting average. The Panthers’ ninth-hole hitter started every game this season at shortstop. He recorded 12 doubles, two triples, and 26 RBIs. In addition, he stole nine of 11 bases this season.
Wilcoxson also earned Great Midwest First Team All-Conference honors this season. He was one of three First Team selections for the Panthers. On April 14th, Wilcoxson hit .600 (13 of 21) with 11 RBIs and scored 10 runs en route to earning G-MAC Player of the Week honors. The Panthers’ shortstop spent most of the season in top tier of the batting average race.
The Panthers finished 24-16 this season with a 19-9 mark in the Great Midwest.
