Down 10 late in the third quarter, Owensboro Catholic climbed its way back into the game and defeated Bethlehem 65-61in overtime to advance in the Queen of the Commonwealth tournament.
Bethlehem took control of the game early, outscoring the Lady Aces in both quarters en route to a 24-23 lead at halftime.
The Banshees came out of the locker room red hot in the third quarter, outscoring Owensboro Catholic while limiting them to 10 points.
Owning a 43-33 lead to open up the fourth quarter, the Lady Aces were determined to not be on the losing end of this road matchup.
Led by sophomore Hailee Johnson, Owensboro Catholic outscored Bethlehem 23-13 to force OT with things knotted up at 56.
Johnson remained sharp in overtime scoring all 10 of the Lady Aces points while holding the Banshees to five en route to a 65-61 win.
Johnson led all scorers with 23 points, while freshman Karmin Riley hit five threes and finished with 19 points.
Now sitting at 5-2 overall, Owensboro Catholic will look to extend its winning streak to six games when they take on Bullitt East at 4:30 p.m on Monday.
