Wednesday, the RiverPark Center announced acrobatics, dance parties and a “Friends” musical parody for its 2020-2021 lineup.

The venue has not set official dates for any of the performances due to state restrictions on gatherings, but will be offering tickets online soon.

For rock ‘n’ roll and country music fans, the RiverPark Center will host Lonestar, Blood Sweat & Tears, Sawyer Brown, Ted Nugent, Pink Floyd Laser Spectacular, Red Hot Chilli Pipers, and The Guess Who.

For youngsters, the lineup includes The Princess Bride, The Hillbilly Science Backyard Boom Show, Broadway Princess Party, Jabali African Acrobats, The Price Is Right LIVE, and The Dinosaur Quest of Dr. T-Rex.

Then there will be a hodgepodge of taste in the next director’s series: FRIENDS! The Musical Parody, That Golden Girls Show! A Puppet Parody, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Winter Dance Party, ARTrageous, and Recycled Percussion.

This year presented unique challenges for the RiverPark Center. The nonprofit relies on big crowds and disposable income to generate revenue — with limited opportunities for alternative funding sources — and consequently had to slash its staff size.

“We’re doing a little bit of everything we can plus cutbacks,” said executive director Rich Jorn.

Next year, Jorn hopes to see more faces inside the center when restrictions loosen. He expressed gratitude for the community’s ongoing support while also acknowledging that it’s understandable if some people continue to avoid big crowds in the near future.

“The community really appreciates and loves the arts and we’re so fortunate for that,” Jorn said. “If you feel comfortable coming to an event, then come on out.”
