If anyone is looking for some positive influences in the city of Owensboro, they can certainly find them Tuesday night at Moreland Park.

The Owensboro Police Department is hosting their 35th annual National Night Out (NNO) on August 7. NNO is a campaign aimed at preventing crime and drug activity in the neighborhoods and communities of Owensboro. Moreover, the campaign promotes healthy partnerships between the police department and the community it serves.

From 5:30-8 p.m., anyone interested can head to Moreland Park and hang out with officers and fellow residents alike. While not a requirement, National Night Out is a place where citizens can share ideas, concerns and encouragement regarding the effort toward making Owensboro a comfortable, safe place to live. OPD is consistently trying to bridge the gap between officers and the community by hosting events that promote unity and offer a fun, laid back environment.

OPD will be offering free music, food, games, drinks, and face painting for those who attend.
