Owensboro Symphony to perform Disney In Concert

Owensboro Symphony Orchestra will present Disney In Concert: Magical Music from the Movies with Troy Quinn on Sat., March 2 at 7 p.m. at RiverPark Center.

Owensboro Symphony is asking the community to “be our guest” by bringing the entire family and experience Disney In Concert: Magical Music from the Movies with Troy Quinn and the full Owensboro Symphony on Sat., March 2 at 7 p.m. at RiverPark Center.

From “Let it Go” to music from “Pirates of the Caribbean,” the music from Disney’s films has captivated children of all ages for decades.

“Children’s eyes are sure to widen as those catchy, fantastic tunes are performed live by the Symphony and four Broadway vocalists.” said Troy Quinn, Conductor of the Symphony. “As a life-long Disney fanatic, I can’t wait for this concert!”

Featuring beloved songs from some of the most famous movies scores ever — “Beauty and the Beast,” “The Lion King,” “The Little Mermaid” — this concert brings Walt Disney’s stories and characters to life. Enjoy memorable melodies and clips from Disney movies projected on a big screen over the stage.

“Children are encouraged to sing along and dress up as their favorite princess or pirate! It will truly be a magical evening,” Gwyn Payne, General Manager of the Owensboro Symphony said.

Share in the magic of Disney and discover anew why these timeless motion picture scores continue to enchant us all. It promises to be a supercalifragilistic carpet ride through the best-loved Disney scores of all time.

Tickets for the Disney In Concert: Magical Music from the Movies range from $38 to $48. Children’s tickets are $24 each.

Tickets can be purchased by calling 270-687-2787 or through the RiverPark Center Box Office, located at 101 Daviess Street. The box office is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The box office re-opens at 5:30 p.m. prior to the 7 p.m. performance.

 

Concert attendees are encouraged to join Troy Quinn in Cannon Hall from 6:15 to 6:40 p.m. for a special pre-concert conversation about the performance. This program, designed to enhance the concert experience, will provide insights into the music and music-makers performing on the program and go “Behind the Music” with Troy Quinn.
