After a few successful events already, the RiverPark Center is expanding their Summer Concert Series this year starting Friday. The concert series is free to the public and will run every Friday through Labor Day.

In June, three concerts were held at the Atmos Courtyard. Because those did well, RPC decided to expand its series to the BB&T Plaza. According to Director of Marketing & Education Grae Greer, the musical lineup for July will include a mix of broadway, bluegrass and rock.

The July concert series lineup is as follows:

  • July 3: Broadway Cabaret Night
  • July 10: JBP & Friends — Bluegrass and Americana
  • July 17: Randy Lanham
  • July 24: Chuck & Alyssa
  • July 31: Paul Montgomery and Ariel & The HighWheel

Greer said the August lineup will be available soon, and it will likely include a mixture of indie, country, jazz and rock music.

“We are presenting this series with strict accordance with the Green River District Health Department,” Greer said. “When, and if, conditions change, we will put the health of the community first and cancel the series without a second thought.”

RPC is encouraging all patrons who attend the concerts to wear face masks and hand sanitizer will be available in multiple locations, Greer said. One hundred patrons will be allowed on the BB&T Plaza, while 40 people at a time will be allowed in the Atmos Courtyard.

Greer said RPC decided to hold the concert series after realizing the community’s need for entertainment during this trying time.

RPC has arranged for various food trucks to be on site each Friday, and the agency’s bars will be open to the public as well.

“With ROMP and Friday After 5 being cancelled, we saw the community’s need for free, public entertainment,” she said. “We are a space that provides quality entertainment and strives to continue to make memories for the community.”
