More than more than 30 musicians and bands will perform across 11 stages during PorchFest OBKY 2021, set for June 12 on Griffith Avenue.
Event co-founder Tamarra Miller said she’s excited to bring PorchFest back after last year’s show was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The first performances will start between 3 and 4 p.m., while the evening performances will begin between 7 and 8 p.m., depending on the location.
While this year’s music festival will present four less stages than in 2019 — namely due to a high number of homeowners moving and selling — Miller said that could be a good thing.
“Maybe it’ll keep the crowd down a little,” she said. “Every year, we plan to have 11-15 stages for PorchFest.”
Miller also said PorchFest officials will keep in line with the state’s recommendations regarding the pandemic, though she said mask-wearing likely won’t be enforced.
“We’ll do whatever it takes to keep it safe,” she said. “I think more people will be vaccinated by then, and that will make people feel safer about getting out. Everybody is ready to get out and mingle and enjoy some music.”
Though several food trucks have already reserved a spot for PorchFest 2021, Miller said there’s still a couple of openings available for vendors interested in participating. So far, J’s Good Grub, Kona Ice of Owensboro, Tri-R-Tips, Slick Back BBQ, and Taqueria have confirmed their spots.
This year’s title sponsor is Independence Bank.
