FA5 Week 7: Celebration to combine American spirit and fond memories

Friday After 5 Week 7

Week 7 of Friday After 5 begins the celebration with honor and memories as the Traveling Kentucky Vietnam Wall will be at the Owensboro Convention Center. Later in the evening, Mayor Pro Tem Larry Maglinger will perform his Rod Stewart tribute show to open for the Velvet Bombers — the first band to play FA5 in 1997.

There will be a ceremony at 5 p.m. to welcome the wall and kick off Friday After 5, and it will remain on the lawn through Sunday.

Worship on the Water also returns for the first time this season and will perform “God and Country.” They’ll be at Cannon Hall from 5-8 p.m.

Street closure and parking: 

The City of Owensboro will close 2nd Street to traffic from Daviess Street to St. Ann Street on Friday starting at 5 p.m.

The parking structure on Daviess Street can still be accessed with a $5 fee. The parking structure on Locust Street is free for the first two hours, with a fee of up to $6 after that.
