Concert on the Lawn

The Owensboro Symphony’s annual Concert on the Lawn returns Saturday with the theme “Tribute to the Circus,” and it will feature Grammy and Emmy winner Laura Dickinson sing selections from “The Greatest Showman.”

The free concert, sponsored annually by U.S. Bank, is scheduled for Saturday on the front lawn of Kentucky Wesleyan College (3000 Frederica Street). The concert begins at 7 p.m., but family friendly activities begin at 5:30 p.m. The community is encouraged to pack a picnic and bring lawn chairs and blankets.

Dickinson — who has won four Grammys and three Emmys — is best known for her extensive work for Disney on animated hits, including Phineas and Ferb, both Frozen films, Lady and the Tramp (2019), Mulan (2020), and more.

Dickinson’s performance is underwritten by Riley and John Hess.

Those who reserved tables are encouraged to participate in a decorating contest reflecting the “Tribute to the Circus” theme. A winner will be chosen to receive two complimentary tickets to the Owensboro Symphony’s Dec. 11 Home for the Holidays concert.
