Point of Grace

The Grammy-nominated and Dove Award-winning trio Point of Grace will perform for free in Owensboro from 5-8 p.m. tonight. It marks the first ever concert for the new “First Fridays” series that will take place on the outdoor stage at the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum.

The free event will feature food trucks, activities for children, and live music. The Hall of Fame will sell concessions, but this will be an alcohol-free concert series creating a family friendly environment for people of all ages. Seating will not be provided, so attendees need to bring their own chair or blanket. No outside coolers permitted.

Point of Grace is an all-female Contemporary Christian music vocal group. The current trio consists of Shelley Breen, Denise Jones, and Leigh Cappillino. The group started out as a quartet in 1991, with original members Breen and Jones, as well as Terry Jones and Heather Payne.

“Point of Grace’s soaring melodies and rich harmonies have helped define the sound of contemporary Christian music for nearly three decades,” their website reads. “With faith-filled and passionate lyrics, their memorable melodies and soaring harmonies have inspired generations to live boldly and keep God’s love as the foundation of their lives.”

With total sales in excess of 8 million units, the group has garnered two Platinum records; three Grammy nominations; 27 No. 1 singles; and numerous Dove Awards. Inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in 2018, Point of Grace has released 10 best-selling studio recordings, four Christmas albums and numerous Christian radio favorites.

The group founded the groundbreaking Girls of Grace conference; they appear regularly on the historic Grand Ole Opry stage; and they have authored multiple books.
