Local mom and entrepreneur Hannah Blandford recently launched a company named Faith Found Me LLC, which offers products that seek to affirm and promote encouragement for young moms.

Originally from North Carolina, Blandford moved to Owensboro after marrying local internal medicine physician Jonathan Blandford.

As a stay-at-home mom, Blandford soon found that there was a need for positive affirmations among new mothers.

“I was trying to breastfeed, trying to keep a human alive. It was a lot,” Blandford said. “One day, looking at newborn diapers my baby had outgrown, the idea came to me.”

Reflecting on the importance of speaking affirmations, Blandford took the lessons she learned 2 years prior at The Women’s School, and offered those affirmations to new moms.

“I had planned to give the diapers to a friend and instead of just giving them to her, I decided to write affirmations and scriptures on the back of the diapers,” Blandford said. “It changed her life.”

The gift of encouragement is something Blandford believes she carries naturally, pointing out that until she had her daughter, she never grasped how crucial an affirmation can be.

“Speaking affirmations was important to me then but looking back, it was even more important to develop that practice to use it now in the postpartum stage. It’s really been amazing,” Blandford said. “I began talking to myself differently and I grew in that aspect.”

After attending The Fuel Conference in August, Blandford received the inspiration to make a leap of faith and act on her idea.

“Kelly Ann Harris was speaking on stage. I was thinking how she was so fired up about her passion and what her purpose was and it was so inspiring to me,” Blandford said.

What happened next was so significant for Blandford.

“In a little notebook, I remember writing down ‘affirmations on a diaper.’ I was thinking man, I want to pitch this idea to Huggies or Pampers and that would be my long term goal for this project. I came home and started working,” she said.

Blandford’s diaper stickers, Anchored Affirmations, can be reused multiple times and include affirmations like: “I deserve the love I give others,” and “I am a good momma.”

As far as future plans, Blandford is partnering with Right to Life on a fundraising campaign for a Safe Haven Baby Box and is about to launch a Christmas sticker. To order from Faith Found Me, visit faithfoundme22.square.site/ .

“It is amazing what has happened since August. God’s hand was all over it,” Blandford said. “I really feel like there is a market for this.”
