When Sam Ray, another local real estate agent, suggested McCaslin join her team, it was an easy “yes” for her. Not only did Ray take McCaslin under her wing as a new agent, but Ray also showed McCaslin the power of social media.
“Sam was my realtor years ago,” McCaslin said. “I always heard real estate was stressful, but it wasn’t with her.”
Four months ago, when McCaslin became an agent, Ray showed her how to make content to help connect with potential home buyers.
“I thought she was awesome, so anything she said I was going to do. She was making TikTok’s and she suggested I make them, too,” McCaslin said.
Describing herself as bubbly, goofy, and not afraid to be who she is, McCaslin decided to get out of her comfort zone and do something different.
In the TikTok of the house tour, McCaslin can be seen dancing though each room of the house. Her joy and energy draws the audience in as she is clearly having fun.
“When I made the video, I never thought it would lead to this. I am still brand new. I’ve only been doing this for about 4 months,” McCaslin said.
New to TikTok, McCaslin said Ray showed how to set timers, select songs, and set up her videos.
“I watched her do a couple. It keeps people entertained and watching,” she said. “We turned it into a competition and because of it, houses get more eyes on them.”
Since the video went viral, McCaslin said supporting reactions and comments have poured in, many people sharing that it brought them joy to watch.
“We get a ton of reactions to them. It’s a fun way to show houses. I am still shocked that many people watched me dance like that,” McCaslin said.
Two weeks ago, McCaslin had less than 100 followers. She now has more than 17,000.
“I’ve had realtors reach out to me and say they are showing my video in all different states. We connected to a group in upstate New York and I think it’s the coolest thing ever. Even if it doesn’t sell houses, if it helps people forget about their bad day, that’s a win in my book.”
