Owensboro’s second Huddle House is officially open on the west side of Owensboro.
Hours are 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 6 a.m. to midnight Friday through Saturday.
The restaurant is located at 2805 West Parrish Avenue, which most recently housed Sam’s Southern Eatery but is more well-known for previously being a Hardee’s.
The new Huddle House is owned by Terry Wingfield and Daniel Potts, who also own the one located at 3248 Mt. Moriah Avenue just off KY 54.
“There are not a lot of sit-down dining breakfast opportunities on the west side of town,” Potts said in September when Owensboro Times broke the news about the second location. “A lot of people like our food, but it was hard trying to get people from the west end to come visit our location (on KY 54) because of high traffic, especially on the weekends. We decided to look at the traffic count and things like that, and (the building on Parrish Avenue) just seemed like a prime location and we decided to go for it.”
In addition to a new floor and a fresh coat of exterior paint, Potts said the new location was redesigned to be very Owensoboro-themed.
For years, the building was home to Hardee’s, which closed permanently in May 2020.
Sam’s Southern Eatery opened there in October 2020 but in March 2022, the owners at the time announced the business would soon be closing. Following an OT article about the decision to close, new owners stepped in to keep Sam’s open. However, the restaurant ended up closing for good in June 2023.
