Dream Riders of Kentucky Inc. has a new Executive Director in Lisa Reeves, as well as a new Program Director in Toni Christiansen.

Reeves said she was drawn to leading Dream Riders because of her work in the nonprofit sector and her desire to improve people’s lives.

“It’s all about how to make someone’s life better. The success stories of how this equine therapy has helped people overcome different things in their lives show we’re impacting families and making their lives better. To me, that’s exciting work,” Reeves said.

Reeves came to Dream Riders after working with Make-A-Wish, where she was the Senior Advancement Officer for Western Kentucky. She said both organizations work toward impacting the individual and their needs.

“I love that type of work, and I see so many opportunities to really grow this program and expand the services. I think there are so many ways in which I can bring things to the table for the organization and really help move them to the next level,” Reeves said.

Christiansen is moving to Owensboro from Iowa. She is a PATH Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI) and Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning (ESMHL) certified and is trained in Equine Services for Heroes.

Christiansen has experience in veteran programming and grant writing. While in the position, she plans to partner with the community and advocate for the wellness of all horses, staff, and volunteers.

Dream Riders is a non-profit that sets out to provide individuals with physical, cognitive, social, and/or emotional needs an opportunity to experience the therapeutic value horses offer.

Dream Riders is located at 4705 Winkler Road in Philpot. For additional information, access their website here, call them at 270-613-0079, or email them at [email protected].
