The Isaac Sterett Adventure Foundation has completed renovations to one floor of their property, which they are calling the Center for Good Works. It will be used to promote collaboration, partnership, and cost-sharing for nonprofit organizations in the community.

Representatives said the organization is excited to continue working on the rest of the building.

Executive Director Julia Tipmore said when it came to renovating, they wanted to find a way to encourage visitors to communicate and stay off their phones.

“So we kind of figured out a way to bring them in with the church and pretend camping, and we’re trying to find a few different ideas,” she said.

The downstairs space has three classrooms, a turf hallway, a few mock porches, and space for cornhole and other outdoor games. The downstairs is completely finished, while the upper level continues with construction.

The hope, Tipmore said, is to partner with nonprofits and businesses to utilize the space for their needs. Both floors can be rented, and nonprofits will be offered a special rate.

ISAF Founder Katie Sterett previously said the revenue generated through long-term lease opportunities and short-term space rental will be distributed back into the community through civic projects.

The space is located at 1010 Allen Street in what used to be The Centre for Business and Research. The property was gifted to the foundation in March 2023.
