Aisha Bowe is a former NASA rocket scientist, future Blue Origin astronaut, global motivational speaker, and founder/CEO of STEMBoard and LINGO. Later this month she’ll be telling local young women about her journey during this year’s Girls Empowerment Trailblazer Dinner, which is free to attend.

While at NASA, she served as a liaison to the Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) Program. She is also a part of the U.S State Department Speaker Program.

In 2022, Bowe created a self-paced coding kit called LINGO that is used by more than 5,000 students in 10 countries use. Geared toward young learners, the project-based activities are available in the form of kits including that teach hardware and software design.

The Trailblazer Dinner is geared towards middle and high-school-aged girls and their parents and guardians, but all are welcome to attend.

The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. on February 29 in OCTC’s Blandford Lecture Hall in the Humanities Building at 4800 New Hartford Road. Check-in for the main event and a program fair featuring OCTC programs and information begins at 4:30 p.m.
