A new 18-hole disc golf course, named “Creekside” is officially open at Yellow Creek Park, just in time for summer play.

This course was designed by Dutch Napier, a professionally ranked disc golf player from Owensboro, with support from H.B. Clark, who manufactured the signs. It is titled “Creekside” and will become the third 18-hole course in Daviess County Parks.

The layout of the Creekside course may be viewed on UDisc, a popular app for disc golf scorekeeping and course discovery nationwide.

Napier describes the course as fun but challenging and perfect for any skill level. Players will find a few water hazards on the back nine near the creek, but the course is mainly open air.

The Daviess County Disc Golf Association will also host a free clinic for the community on July 5, prior to the German American Bank Fireworks Festival.  Players of all skill levels are encouraged to participate.

With the new course, the Parks Department plans to partner with Visit Owensboro and the Daviess County Disc Golf Association this November for a tournament.

Daviess County Parks & Recreation now maintains three 18-hole disc golf courses: two at Yellow Creek Park and one at Panther Creek Park South.
