A local TikTok creator who began their social media journey a few months ago has experienced an unexpected surge in popularity after a recent video went viral. Initially focusing on voice impressions, Matt Spencer transitioned to Marvel-related content, including movie reviews and news.
The turning point came with a Halloween-themed video featuring a Wolverine costume, inspired by the latest “Deadpool & Wolverine” film. The costume video amassed 3.7 million views.
“I was so excited and shocked when the video took off,” Spencer said. “I decided to keep doing the costume reviews and ever since then, I’ve grown my following from 24 followers to 4,522 followers in 3 weeks and growing every day.”
Spencer said other content he has done includes comedy shows, voice impressions, and voiceovers.
“Entertaining is something I’ve always loved,” he said. “I’m always looking for new ideas to keep people watching, which is why I enjoy creating these costume videos.”
With their newfound popularity, Spencer said he plans to continue exploring creative costume ideas and expanding his presence on TikTok, where his handle is @matt.spencer00.
