A spooky adventure awaits as The Cottage is hosting “Terror in the Corn Maze,” a new haunted attraction. Organizers say the 5-acre maze will feature terrifying surprises, including zombies and evil clowns, challenging participants to find their way out while navigating the dark, eerie pathways.
The event will occur on October 26, 27, and 31, from 6-10 p.m. each night at The Cottage, located at 6819 KY 56. Tickets are $20 per person. The experience is expected to last approximately 20-25 minutes.
Proceeds will benefit Lighthouse Recovery, an organization that offers an 18-month program that helps individuals with substance abuse issues. They are dedicated to changing lives through peer mentorship, the 12 steps of recovery, and case management.
The Cottage owner and event organizer Marlene Knight cautions that the event is for mature audiences due to its intense atmosphere and may not be suitable for children under 13.
“As the sun sets and the terror begins, you’ll find yourself lost in a maze where every turn could lead to another horrifying encounter. Will you find your way out, or will the horrors within claim another victim? Only the bravest souls will survive this nightmarish journey,” a video promo for the event says.
For families looking for a more relaxed daytime experience, the corn maze will be open weekly through October 31, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, at $5 per person. Daytime visitors can enjoy a less scary version of the maze, with hidden mailboxes and clues leading to prizes.
“I just feel like there is a major interest in haunted and scary things,” Knight said. “Several of my employees suggested this to me, so we began to look at the space we had on the farm, and it just made sense.”
