Four schools in the Daviess County Public Schools district have been recognized for their implementation of technology in the classroom. That’s tied for the most schools in a single district statewide to earn the Gold Status by the Kentucky Department of Education’s Student Technology Leadership Program.

Audubon Elementary, Burns Elementary, Burns Middle School, and Apollo High all earned the designation. Aaron Yeiser, Instructional Technology Coordinator of Daviess County Public Schools, said the achievement underscores the district’s unwavering commitment to providing students with exceptional learning opportunities that foster creativity, innovation, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

“We are incredibly proud of our schools for achieving this remarkable milestone,” Yeiser said. “This accomplishment is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our students, teachers, and administrators who consistently strive together for kids toward excellence. It also highlights the power of project-based learning and the transformative impact it can have on student engagement and achievement.”

The Gold Status designation is awarded to schools that demonstrate a sustained commitment to implementing the STLP, which empowers students to become leaders in their schools and communities through technology. Gold Status schools “provide students with a wide range of opportunities to explore their passions, develop critical thinking skills, and collaborate with their peers to solve real-world problems,” according to a release.
