Brandon Harley has been named the new Chief Executive Officer of Audubon Area Community Services (AACS). Harley has more than a decade of leadership experience in both the public and nonprofit sectors.
Harley, who has been with AACS for nearly 10 years, most recently served as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, where he oversaw the agency’s operations, managed key collaborations, and helped develop strategic initiatives aimed at addressing poverty and enhancing the well-being of individuals and families in the region.
As CEO, Harley will oversee AACS’s network of more than 600 employees and ensure the effective delivery of services that address the diverse needs of the region’s most vulnerable populations. He will also work to continue strengthening relationships with key community partners, including local government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and healthcare providers.
“I am honored to step into the role of CEO of Audubon Area Community Services, an organization that has had a profound impact on the lives of so many in our community,” Harley said. “Together with our dedicated staff and partners, I look forward to continuing the important work of helping individuals and families out of poverty and creating opportunities for a better future.”
Throughout his tenure at AACS, Harley has aimed to deliver comprehensive support for low-income populations through programs focused on early childhood education (Head Start and Early Head Start), housing assistance, employment services, senior services, transportation, recovery, access to healthcare, and social support services. He also played a major role in the development of the Audubon Area Community Care Clinic, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) offering primary healthcare to anyone with a focus on caring for the homeless and transient populations in the Green River area.
“Brandon has been an invaluable leader at Audubon Area Community Services for many years, and we are confident in his ability to guide the agency forward as CEO,” said Mary Danhauer, AACS board of directors chair. “His deep understanding of the challenges facing our community, combined with his collaborative leadership style, makes him the ideal person to continue our work of empowering individuals and transforming lives.”
Harley’s career also includes extensive experience with the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s Cabinet for Health and Family Services, where he held leadership roles in child welfare and juvenile justice programming, as well as in staff development and strategic planning.
