Owensboro Community & Technical College is offering students and history enthusiasts a chance to explore the rich history of Salem and Boston during a week-long study-away trip from June 19-26, 2025.

The trip was inspired by OCTC’s recent student research exhibition on the Salem Witch Trials and will include visits to landmarks tied to colonial and revolutionary history. Participants will explore sites ranging from the Salem Witch Trials to Boston’s role in America’s fight for independence. Students can earn academic credit for participating in the program.

Planned stops on the trip include:
• Salem Witch Museum and Rebecca Nurse Homestead
• Proctor’s Ledge, a key site in the Salem Witch Trials
• USS Constitution and Museum, Paul Revere’s House, and Bunker Hill Monument
• A Freedom Trail walking tour, including Boston Commons, Beacon Hill, and the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum
• Whale-watching in Boston Harbor
• Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox
• The Boston Museum of Science and the JFK Presidential Library

“This trip is an excellent opportunity for anyone passionate about American history or interested in Boston’s vibrant cultural scene,” a release from OCTC says. “It’s a perfect mix of education and adventure.”
