Owensboro Racing & Gaming will open its doors on February 12, 2025. Company officials promise games, food, and entertainment, welcoming guests to a new $100 million gaming and entertainment complex east of Owensboro.
Located at 460 Wrights Landing Road, Owensboro Racing & Gaming will feature 600 historical racing machines (HRMs), a retail sportsbook, simulcast wagering, and multiple food and beverage options.
Dining options include The Starting Gate and The Track Kitchen, which will serve items such as the Bourbon Glazed Cheeseburger, Hot Brown, fried shrimp baskets, and BBQ pulled pork sliders.
“The entire team is incredibly excited to welcome the public to our grand opening festivities on February 12,” said Steve Roof, general manager of Owensboro Racing & Gaming. “The day will feature a ceremonial ribbon cutting, giveaways, promotions, and live entertainment. It will be the perfect kickoff to all the thrills that await our guests at what is sure to be a premier regional entertainment destination.”
Roof said guests can prepare for the grand opening by signing up for a Players Club Card to start earning rewards. Registration is available now at Ellis Park, the Owensboro Racing & Gaming office, or at community events in the coming months.
The complex is operated by Churchill Downs Incorporated. Churchill officials expect the facility to generate $125 million annually in regional economic impact and create 150 permanent jobs. It will also serve as an annex for Ellis Park, supporting the racetrack’s summer meets in Henderson.
