The Green River Area Community Foundation is asking nonprofits in its six-county service area to submit a brief Needs Survey to help shape the focus of its 2026 community grants. Responses will be used by the Grantmaking Committee to determine priority areas before inviting select organizations to apply for funding.

More than $70,000 in grants will be awarded early next year to eligible 501(c)(3) groups serving Daviess, Hancock, McLean, Ohio, Union, and Webster counties.

“We know our local nonprofits have ever-changing financial needs,” said GRACF Chair David Ross. “We can use this information to make our grants more impactful and to assist other funders with finding projects that match with their philanthropic goals.”

The Needs Survey is due by 4 p.m. on August 29 and can be completed online here or via the foundation’s Facebook page.

GRACF Executive Director Amy Silvert said the survey could also help agencies identify additional funding opportunities.

“The Community Foundation Board remains dedicated to expanding the support we provide to local agencies each year,” she said. “This spring, anonymous board members pledged personal dollars to match new contributions — up to $10,000 — toward our newly established GRACF Annual Grants Fund. This generous commitment not only doubles the impact of every donation but also strengthens our shared mission to uplift and invest in our community.”

Individuals or organizations that would like to contribute can contact Silvert at  [email protected].

GRACF began in 1993 as the Community Foundation of Owensboro-Daviess County and now serves the six-county region as an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Louisville.
