RiverValley Behavioral Health is expanding its services with the opening of The Emerald Lodge, a new residential treatment facility for men in Hancock County.
The 16-bed residential recovery center located in Hawesville is designed to provide substance use treatment in a structured, nature-focused setting. The program aims to support long-term recovery through individualized care that addresses both substance use and co-occurring mental health needs.
Officials said the facility is part of RiverValley Behavioral Health’s broader effort to increase access to treatment, particularly in rural communities.
“By bringing residential treatment to Hancock County, we are strengthening our ability to meet individuals where they are and provide the support needed for lasting recovery, wellness, and hope for the future,” said Dr. Wanda Figueroa-Peralta, President and CEO of RiverValley Behavioral Health.
The Emerald Lodge will offer a range of services, including individual and group therapy, medication-assisted treatment, case management, relapse prevention, and career planning. Patients will also receive a full assessment and individualized treatment plan, along with access to peer support and one year of aftercare services.
The program is delivered by a multidisciplinary clinical team and uses evidence-based practices within a trauma-informed framework, emphasizing long-term stability and community connection.
“We are deeply committed to treating the whole person, not just the symptoms they present with,” said Michelle Nobles, Vice President of Outpatient and Crisis Services at RiverValley Behavioral Health. “That means addressing physical health, mental health, spiritual wellbeing, and social connection, while helping individuals build a strong foundation in recovery principles that will support them long after they leave our care.”
