A 60-foot-tall rubber duck is drawing attention at Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari as the park celebrates its Rubber Duck Days event through June 21.
Known as Mama Duck, the giant inflatable is on display daily, weather permitting, on the beach at Bahari Wave Pool. She is joined by several smaller rubber duck companions throughout the event.
“She’s a sight to behold,” Lauren Crosby, fourth-generation owner and director of entertainment and events, said in a release. “We knew Mama Duck would be impressive, but you just have to see her to BILL-ieve it.”
In addition to the oversized attraction, Holiday World has introduced duck-themed merchandise, game prizes, and specialty food items for the event. Menu offerings include a Duck Nest Funnel Cake topped with Peeps, malt balls, and chocolate sauce; a Yellow Ducky Dole Float featuring Dole Whip, Starry soda, and blue raspberry flavoring; Duck Sauced Chicken Tenders; and Quacking Mac & Cheese with bacon and chicken bites.
“June is a great time to visit,” Crosby said. “Especially on weekdays, the crowds are smaller, lines are shorter, and guests will be QUACKING up at the sight of Mama Duck towering over Splashin’ Safari.”
Crosby said the park also received two brightly colored duck companions for the display, which staff have nicknamed Tammy 1 and Tammy 2.
The duck-themed celebration continues as Holiday World prepares for the return of its Holidays in the Sky drone and fireworks spectacular. The nighttime show begins June 20 and runs through Aug. 3, weather permitting. Now in its fifth season, the production will feature 500 drones and nearly 50 onboard pyrotechnic elements, the most in the show’s history.
