Yesterday Right to Life of Owensboro held their 39th annual Walk for Life event. The walk is designed to raise awareness of the sanctity of life, according to Executive Director, Stacey Davis.

“It’s not just about abortion,” Davis said. “We want to honor life from conception to natural death.”

More than 300 people made the 3-mile walk down Frederica Street yesterday, a number Davis said she would love to see grow.

And while Davis said the walk was competing against the air show yesterday, it did not affect attendance and this year’s donations were higher than ever. In fact, $8,000 was raised yesterday, nearly double the amount raised at last year’s walk.
