For those interested in celebrating Easter with their dog, two events are happening in Owensboro.

TD’s Tough Decisions is offering an Easter Bunny photo shoot at their business. April 7 from 1 to 3 p.m., dog owners may bring them to the business and they will pose for a photo by LJL Photography.

“We did a couple of years ago to raise money for Castlen Dog Park and now that the park is happening, we want to raise money to host events at the park,” said Sandy Deyton, wife of TD and fundraiser coordinator of Castlen Dog Park.

The dog park hopes to be operational by the beginning of May and the coordinators want to host several events on site, including adoption events, but this will cost money, along with upkeep and keeping the grounds clean.

“We have 20 bunny costumes in the store, so we thought it would be a good idea,” Deyton said.

A $10 donation is requested to have a picture taken.

Tractor Supply Company is sponsoring the 7th annual Easter Bone Hunt on April 20 at Ben Hawes State Park.

Saving Paws Animal Rescue of Kentucky (SparKy’s) said this is the most popular event with over 100 dogs in attendance in year’s past.

Registration begins at 11 a.m. with the first hunt at 11:30 a.m. Hunts will continue until 1:30 p.m.

Dream Copy Photography will take professional portraits of dogs beginning at 11 a.m. and will email a digital file to owners that can be printed and shared on social media.

Raising Cane will also be there with their signature lemonade, tea and water. They will also have a prize wheel.

SparKy said that the beginning of the event is busier, so if a pet is sensitive to excitement or just beginning to get socialized, owners are encouraged to come later in the event, which will ensure a quieter hunt.

The cost is $10 per dog to hunt, $20 per pet for pictures or both for only $25. All proceeds from the event go to Saving Paws Animal Rescue of Kentucky.
