Several places throughout the community spent their time over the weekend taking donations for victims of the Friday night tornado. More opportunities to donate continue to spring for the community to get involved. Here’s a list we’ve started compiling of places to donate.

If your organization is not listed but wants to be, contact us here with details on how people can help.

The Green River Distillery is serving as a drop-off point for people to look for ways to help support starting at 10 a.m. today.

They are accepting several items including water, crackers, cookies, baby formula and other items.

Donation needs will be updated as the situation changes. Green River will also accept toy donations to bring some joy during such devastation.

The Green River team has members on the ground and has already started purchasing supplies to rush to the hardest-hit areas.

“We are heartbroken to see the devastation in our neighboring communities,” said Jacob Call of Green River Distilling Co. “We immediately got to work seeing what was needed on the ground, and figuring out how we could use the space of our distillery to help.”

Iron Jungle Gym is accepting donations beginning today as they fill up a trailer to deliver to Bowling Green.

Donations are accepted from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Donors are asked to self-load the trailer.

They are accepting toiletries along with blankets, tarps, new clothing and other items.

As the week progresses, other organizations are finding creative ways to give to the community.

Owensboro High School’s band will be taking donations at their holiday performance this Tuesday at 6 p.m.

“The devastating tornado that took so much from our fellow Kentuckians has left many with various degrees of loss, some who have lost everything,” Assistant Director of the band Aaron Klausing said.

The donations will be directed to Mayfield-Graves County Fairgrounds.

This Saturday, AMVET Post 119 is hosting a benefit at 12 p.m. where they are accepting donations and holding an auction.

The event will have live music and donations can be made early at Fast Lane.
