The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet was supposed to provide the final version of the outer loop feasibility study Tuesday morning. However, the report will have to wait as officials said the cabinet had difficulty putting the report together before the meeting.

Tom Lovett, Metropolitan Planning Organization Coordinator for Green River Area Development District, said during their MPO meeting that KYTC had reshuffled the location of staff within their building since they last presented, and in doing so they prolonged the process to get the report out to the public.

While nothing is presently set to move forward with the plan for an outer loop, this report will consist of comments from the public and minor corrections to the already completed report.

“There’s not going to be not much noticeably different between the two documents,” Lovett said.

When they last met, KYTC had determined that it was not feasible at this time for an outer loop. When the report is final, Lovett said it will also contain information should the idea be revisited in the future.

Lovett said that once the report is provided to him he will be able to provide an update to the MPO and the community as soon as possible.

As their December meeting would be during the last week of the year, they postponed all business to Jan. 25, 2022.
