Many OBKYers would argue that Dee’s Diner has the best pancakes in town and certainly the largest.
The diner, which has been serving Owensboro for the last eight years, has a surprising story on how their famous pancakes originated.
“Our pancakes started out as a joke,” said owner Kenny Harper. “It was a prank on one of our regulars and it just grew from there.” Literally.
According to Harper, Dee’s sells several hundred pancakes a week, with a higher volume ordered on the weekends.
“We put a lot of love in each thing we serve but something is special about a hot pancake and syrup,” Harper said.
