Owensboro will soon be home to its fourth food order and delivery service. Waitr will work similarly to other local food delivery services such as Big O Takeout, DoorDash and Grubhub.
Founded in 2013, Waitr works as an app-based restaurant platform, allowing guests to scroll through restaurant menus, customize orders, modify any item, add people to a group order and split the check. Customers can choose from delivery or carryout options. The company has partnered with 6,200 restaurants in over 230 cities across the U.S.
Buffalo Wild Wings, Pan Asian, The Spot Coffee & Finery, Lee’s Famous Chicken Recipe, McAlister’s Deli, Gangnam Korean BBQ, Wheatgrass Juice Bar, Salsarita’s Fresh Mexican Grill, Y-Not Pizza & Wings will be local restaurants partnering with Waitr in the near future.
The company differs from others of its kind in that Waitr was created by hospitality professionals for hospitality professionals, according to the company’s website. The company has delivered over half a million orders since 2013 and has earned $4.8 million in annual revenue. According to crunchbase.com, the app sees 154,368 monthly downloads.
Waitr is currently hiring for a mobile restaurant success manager, city manager and delivery driver positions in Owensboro.
