Lic’s Deli & Ice Cream named top 10 shop in Kentucky

Earlier this month The Kentucky 100, a new, twice-monthly emailed publication that delivers 100-word stories and short videos named Lic’s Deli & Ice Cream in Owensboro one of the top 10 ice cream shops in the state.

Lic’s, abbreviated for Lloyd’s Ice Cream Shoppes, was established in 1950 in Evansville, Ind., where the premium ice cream was made in the back room of one small retail store.

According to its website, Lic’s ice cream contains a higher cream content than many big chain ice cream shops.

Located at 2120 W. Parrish Ave., Lic’s has more than 20 flavors of ice cream and sherbet for patrons to try.
