Southern Comforts opened its doors to customers for the first time in April, but the family-owned restaurant located in the Cambell Club building has since caved under financial strain. It moved out of the building Friday.

Restaurant owner and chef Shannon De Lozier had high hopes for the business when she signed the lease in March. De Lozier said unfortunately the dream had been crushed at the Campbell Club, but she’s looking for other avenues.

“This is not going to pull me down. I plan on 100 percent coming back, full force. I want to be a part of this community and I want my food to be part of this community,” De Lozier said. “I’m going to find a place where it can happen.”

De Lozier said she’ll still be offering food made from her kitchen at home. Visit Southern Comforts in Owensboro on Facebook or call 270-240-1715 to place orders.
