Chili’s is coming to Owensboro this August, a spokesperson for the company confirmed Wednesday afternoon. It’s going in the location that most recently was home to Golden Corral at 4500 Frederica St., just off the bypass.
“The people of Owensboro will no longer have to drive to Louisville just to enjoy fajitas and ‘ritas, my friend,” the spokesperson wrote in an email to Owensboro Times.
The plan is to start the dirt work next week, the spokesperson said.
Golden Corral has been closed temporarily during the pandemic but announced in May 2020 they would remain closed permanently. The Owensboro Golden Corral location opened in March 2017.
Before that, the building was formerly home to Ryan’s Buffet.
