Owensboro is expected to get a bit colder this winter, as Cold Stone Creamery plans to open a new location on KY 54 in the near future.
Co-owners Luc Bowman and Gayla Martin said the ice cream shop is in the final stages of closing in on a second location to operate in, adding that it will be approximately 2,000 square feet.
Bowman confirmed they are still keeping both their Frederica location and the catering trailer open for business. The new location will simply be an addition to their franchise as well.
“We’re looking to maybe finalize [the deal] in the next couple of days to maybe early next week,” Bowman said.
Both Bowman and Martin are very excited and look forward to the expansion.
In addition to the expansion, they said they will be remodeling the Frederica location to continue to give the ultimate ice cream experience to their customers.
Cold Stone Creamery opened its store at 5140 Frederica Street in 2007 and opened its mobile truck last April to help bring its presence to a number of events in the community like Friday After 5 and ROMP.
