A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans a work zone lane restriction with a 10 ft. load width restriction along a section of US 431 in southern Daviess County starting Tuesday, August 7, 2018.

US 431 will be restricted to one lane at milepoint 8.59 in Daviess County to allow maintenance and painting of the Panther Creek Bridge. This is along US 431 between West Pettit Road and Martin Luther King, Jr. Loop, south of Owensboro.

Motorists should be prepared to encounter one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by an automated signal. Motorists should be aware of slowing and stopped traffic as they approach the work zone. This work zone will have a 45 mile per hour speed limit.

Truckers and farmers should be aware of the maximum 10 ft. load width allowed through this work zone.

The contractor will initially be doing bridge maintenance and preparing for painting of the bridge structure. Once the maintenance and prep work is completed, the contractor is expected to temporarily removed the lane and width restriction until painting starts.

Euro Paint, LLC, is the prime contractor on this $660,919 bridge maintenance and painting project. The target completion date on the US 431 Panther Creek Bridge is November 15, 2018.

This project includes maintenance and painting of the KY 81 Panther Creek Bridge which is closed until September 16th for work at that location.
