Victim of fatal accident at Tamarack and Carter Roads identified

**UPDATE: According to the Owensboro Police Department, the victim in this accident has been identified as 38-year-old Christopher M. Goldman of Owensboro.


UPDATE: As of 9:16 p.m., Tamarack and Carter Roads are now back open to traffic.


At approximately 5:20 p.m. Friday evening, the Owensboro Police Department was dispatched to an injury accident at the intersection of Tamarack Road and Carter Road.

The accident was involving one vehicle and a moped. OPD officers report that the operator of the moped suffered fatal injuries from the collision.

This intersection is temporarily closed while officers complete accident reconstruction.

According to OPD, both roadways could be shut down for several hours.

 

Recommended detours for drivers are as follows:

Motorists traveling south on Carter Road should use O’Bryan Blvd.

Those traveling north on Carter, may use Southtown.

Any traffic traveling on Tamarack will be diverted onto McEntire crossing.
