Multiple-vehicle high-speed chase ends in accident

After more information from officials on scene has come in, Owensboro Times can confirm that only one vehicle was involved in the accident. Multiple vehicles were involved in the pursuit, which ended in one car wrecking in nearby water at the intersection of US-231 and US-60.


Owensboro-Daviess County Central Dispatch has confirmed that there is a multiple vehicle accident at the intersection of US-231 and US-60. According to dispatch, six to eight vehicles are involved.

Daviess County Sheriff Chief Deputy Barry Smith confirmed that it was a result of a high speed chase, involving law enforcement from Hawesville, Lewisport and Breckinridge County. DCSO arrived after the pursuit ended and are on the scene with other agencies involved.

Smith said the driver is being taken to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital to be checked out after running off the road into nearby water. A Breckinridge County Officer went into the water to get the driver.
