The Bourbon & Bluegrass Century Ride is a charity event hosted annually by Bicycle Owensboro in support of Dream Riders of Kentucky; a nonprofit organization that provides equine assisted activities to individuals with disabilities.

This year’s ride will take place on Saturday, August 3, 2019.

The Bourbon & Bluegrass Century Ride offers routes and distances for every level of rider from beginner to competitive cyclists. Route lengths include a full century (100 miles), metric century (62 miles), and a 33-mile route.

Strategically placed rest stops are peppered throughout the route to provide cyclists an opportunity to rest, re-energize, and repair their bicycles. The rest stops are sponsored and manned by area businesses who provide nutrient-rich drinks and snacks.

In 2018, 550 cyclists participated in the ride; the youngest rider being 9 and the oldest being 82. Riders came from as close as Owensboro to as far away as Texas, Kansas, and Florida. Many arrived the day before the race and stayed through the weekend, enjoying Owensboro’s great restaurants, museums, and river-front.

The ride will begin and end at OZ Tyler Distillery on Saturday, August 3rd. Riders will be provided with a continental breakfast and a post-ride lunch.

Interested riders may log on and register here or contact Becky Martin (270) 315-7243 or Paula Hayden (270) 929-0739 for more information.
