UPDATE: The Daviess County Coroner’s Office has identified the deceased victim as Kevin D. White, 34 of Hopkinsville, KY. According to the Owensboro Police Department, White sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. The investigation is still active and ongoing.
UPDATE: On Tuesday, March 12, 2019 officers responded to the 1000 block of West 8th Street in reference to a shots fired call. Upon arrival, officers located one male subject deceased inside a residence. Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division and officers from the Evidence Collection Unit are on scene, along with the Daviess County Coroner’s Office. The investigation is ongoing.
Owensboro Police Department has confirmed that a male was shot in the area of Maple and Eighth Streets. OPD arrived on scene 15 minutes ago.
Owensboro Times has received reports that the male victim was shot in the head. A late 1990s white four-door Chevy Impala was seen fleeing the scene. This has not been confirmed by OPD at this point.
