Juvenile and OPD vehicle involved in accident on Frederica

UPDATE: Trooper Corey King, Public Affairs for Kentucky State Police said there were no injuries sustained by anyone involved. A student ran across the street through oncoming traffic and ran into the side of an OPD vehicle. Because the student is a juvenile it is protocol he/she be transported to the hospital as a precaution.


Owensboro Police Department Public Information Officer Andrew Boggess confirmed that a juvenile was involved in an accident with a vehicle in front of Owensboro High School Friday afternoon. Boggess said that OPD was involved in the accident and that Kentucky State Police are handling the investigation.

Injuries sustained by the juvenile are unknown at this time. Frederica Street in front of OHS is blocked with emergency vehicles.
