Grand jury indicts second man in early March murder

According to an Owensboro Police Department news release, a Daviess County Grand Jury has indicted a second man for murder in the shooting death of Hopkinsville, Ky. native Kevin D. White.

Talen M. Johnson, 18 years old of Owensboro, was indicted for White’s murder and was also indicted in a separate first degree burglary charge. He is currently lodged at the Daviess County Detention Center.

Officers responded to a shots fired call in the 1000 block of West 8th Street on March 12, 2019. Upon arrival, officers located White deceased inside a residence.

On May 1, a Daviess County Grand Jury indicted Damartez Thruston, 18, of Owensboro, for White’s murder.

OPD is still attempting to locate Thruston, who has an outstanding warrant for murder. According to OPD, he is possibly armed and should be considered dangerous.
