OPD searches for missing man with Alzheimer’s

UPDATE: Steven E. Gray has been located and is being reunited with family.


Owensboro Police Department is asking the public’s for assistance in locating a missing adult.

According to OPD Public Information Officer Andrew Boggess, a Golden Alert was issued for 65-year-old Steven E. Gray who is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. Gray is 5 foot 10 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds. Boggess said Gray now has long white hair and a long white beard. He was last seen wearing a red T-shirt and blue jeans and was in a 2008 blue Toyota Yaris with his dog.

Gray formerly lived in Hawesville, but was last located in Henderson County. OPD responded to the 100 block of West 18th Street on a missing persons report 3:02 p.m., where Gray was last seen.

Detectives along with the Emergency Management Agency (EMA) responded and are currently searching for Gray. Anyone with any information about his location is asked to contact dispatch at 270-687-8888.
