Sheriff’s Office releases details of fatal accident on U.S. 431

UPDATE – 3:49 p.m.

According to a Daviess County Sheriff’s Office news release,  DCSO, Utica Fire Department, Daviess County Fire Department and AMR emergency services was dispatched to a two vehicle fatality collision in the 6400 block of Frederica Street.

A 2017 Buick Encore was traveling northbound on Frederica Street when the vehicle crossed the center line and struck a southbound 2018 ford F250 headon. Five occupants of the Ford F250 were transported by AMR to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital with nonlife threatening injuries.

The driver of the Buick Encore was pronounced deceased at the scene. All subjects involved were wearing seat belts and alcohol is not believed to be a factor. The name of the deceased driver will be released by the Daviess County Coroner’s Office pending family notification. 

The driver of the Ford F-250 is: Trey Miller, age 25, of Princeton, Ky. The occupants were: Elijah Anderson, age 21, of Princeton, Ky.; Hunter Ortt, age 19, of Princeton, Ky.; Jeffrey Oliver, age 19, of Paducah, Ky.; William Darnell, age 20, of Princeton, Ky.

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that U.S. 431 has reopened after a head-on collision ended in a fatality just after noon Monday. Major Barry Smith said that the five other people involved in the accident appear to have minor injuries. One female was killed in the accident. Her name will be released once the Daviess County Coroner’s Office notifies next of kin.


The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed a fatal accident on U.S. 431 near Petit.

According to Major Barry Smith, deputies arrived on the scene of a head-on collision at approximately 12:30 p.m. Monday where they found one deceased victim and multiple injuries.

Smith said two vehicles were involved in the accident. Currently both north and southbound lanes of U.S. 431 are closed. DCSO accident reconstruction units are in route.
