According to the Kenergy website, over 5,000 people are currently without power in Daviess County.

Kenergy has confirmed the issue is at Big Rivers Electric Corporation, which supplies power to the local utility.

“It is up to them to restore power,” said Leslie Neeley, Communications and Public Relations Specialist at Kenergy Corp. “We can send crews to help, but it’s ultimately up to them.”

Neeley was not able to provide Owensboro Times with an estimated time for the outage.

Owensboro Times will update this story as more information is made available.
