Owensboro man arrested after armed robbery

Owensboro Police Department FLEX unit officers responded to a call at 6:21 p.m. from a male victim who was robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot of Wesleyan Park Plaza.

According to Public Information Officer Andrew Boggess, two suspects took the victim’s vehicle and wallet and fled.

The unoccupied vehicle was located at 7:15 p.m. on KY 1554.

The Daviess County Sherriff’s Office and Kentucky State Police assisted members of the Owensboro Police Department in searching the area. Both individuals were located on KY 56 a short distance from the vehicle after a K-9 search was conducted by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.

Daniel York, 40, Owensboro, has been charged with first-degree robbery, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, tampering with physical evidence and fleeing or evading police second degree. The second individual is not believed to have been involved in the robbery at this time.
