Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin has requested a recanvass of Tuesday’s election results, which show he’s trailing Democratic opponent Andy Beshear by 5,150 votes.
Bevin’s campaign confirmed the recanvass in a statement issued on his website, citing the election was too close to call and multiple voting irregularities were reported.
“The people of Kentucky deserve a fair and honest election. With reports of irregularities, we are exercising the right to ensure that every lawful vote was counted,” the statement said.
