NWS issues flash flood warning for Daviess County

The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued Flash Flood Warning for Daviess County 1:45 p.m.

Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Street flooding has been reported in Owensboro, and additional heavy rain is moving into the area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

Some locations that will experience flooding include Owensboro, Rockport, Whitesville, Masonville, Stanley, Knottsville, St. Joseph and Moseleyville.

Additional rainfall amounts of up to one inch are possible in the warned area.

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
